Theme & Menu Information
01/21/03 - I have been negligent on updating this page. The food was wonderful! None of us died from anything. This was a BIG plus! The reception meal was Carne Asada with guacamole, beans, Mexican Onions (think BIG scallions), salsa hot enough to sear your taste buds off for a month, and all of the tequila you could drink. It was wonderful...or did I already mention that?
The lovely bride has chosen Red and White as her wedding colors.
Since I am the groom, it falls to me to mind my own business about this whole affair. She is very happily planning and arranging and working with her family on site to make sure it all goes without any hitches.
I am supposed to smile when requested and stay out of the way. I gather that my whole part in this ceremony is to stand in front of everyone and repeat some words and then they will feed me.

That brings me to the menu.
Being a red-blooded Gringo (Caucasian American), what I know about Mexican cooking I learned at various Mexican restaurants throughout the country. So, figuring that the best food would be in the native land, I requested tacos and such for the menu.
I have been informed by the beautiful bride that the evening meal will be served in a buffet style. The main meat will be Carne Asada and guests will be able to have it cut up for taco style, or they can eat it as a regular steak. Yum!!!!
Unfortunately, I don't speak more than about 40 words in Spanish, and only about 5 of those are suitable for mixed company. So, I am left to assume that the menu will actually be traditional basic Mexican food that most are somewhat familiar with, if they've eaten anywhere besides Taco Bell.
So, like everyone else, I am taking my life in my own hands...but have been assurred that it will be VERY delicious and I'll never forget it. Uh, yeah. That's a confidence builder.
